Unternehmer findet fast verlassenes Dorf in Italien – und rettet es

Wäre Unternehmer Daniele Kihlgren nicht an dem kleinen Ort Santo Stefano di Sessanio in der italienischen Region Abruzzen vorbei gekommen – das Dorf würde es heute wahrscheinlich nicht mehr geben. Denn das fast verlassene Örtchen mit nicht einmal 200 Einwohnern stand kurz vor dem Zerfall. Doch dann hat Daniele Kihlgren eine verrückte Idee, für die er fast sein gesamtes Erbe im Wert von zehn Millionen Euro investiert: Das gesamte Dorf mit seinen alten, verlassenen Gebäuden soll zur Hotelanlage werden. Und das Beste: Alle Bewohner dürfen mitmachen und Hoteliers werden. Doch selbst Danieles engste Berater zweifeln am Erfolg der Hotel-Idee. Sie glauben: Die Investition lohnt sich nicht, denn nach Santo Stefano di Sessanio verirren sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt nur selten Touristen. Doch der Unternehmer gibt nicht auf – und lässt das Dorf in neuem Glanze erstrahlen.
